The city of Kilkenny

Kilkenny is the maincity of the county Kilkenny, which is located in the south-east of Ireland. There are only 25.000 people living there, so it is the smallest city in the country.

Our opinion to Kilkenny:

We are both really happy to stay a month in this lovely, little city. Since day 1 we like it a lot and there are lots of beautiful places and spots in and around Kilkenny. The city is quite small and there are about 30 pubs and lots of restaurants. We have already visited some and we loved it, especially the live music in there. One of the biggest and most popular pups here is called “Left Bank”. We have already been there and it was really cool.

What we also love about this city are the people living here. They are very friendly and open minded, especially the staff in the bars and pubs. What’s really funny about the people is that there are lots of redheads, so it isn’t just a cliché: but there are not as much as everybody thinks.

One of our favourite spots is a place at the river Nore, which goes through the whole county. It’s really quiet there and it’s a great place for relaxing. The second one is the castle in the middle of Kilkenny, which is also very famous. It’s a beautiful and old building with a park inside.

All in all, we really really like everything about Kilkenny and can just recommend coming here and explore it yourself.
